He has been successful in whatever role he has had so far. He laid the groundwork for the offense at Lakeshore this past season. He had a good stretch at Fontainebleau. His time at St. Thomas was short-lived, but he had success there. In short, in spite of the Skippers losing 3 of their 4 best players,he will make Mandeville more competitive than they should be. I keep waiting for SLU to make the hire and put him on staff. I think that will happen in due time.

Implemented his offense at STA in only 1 year with pretty good success. Met him at a football fundraiser, likeable guy.

Lecompte will be tough to follow, he way over achieved with the talent he usually had. I am assuming that he will have access to more talent at HC, if so I wouldn't be surprised to see him win a state championship.

Not very impressed so far. He has Northlake Christian transfer Devon Tott starting at QB. They lost to U High (no disgrace) and could have beaten Live Oak at home. Should have beaten Hammond last night. That QB is 0-5 as a starter, which includes the failed 2-point gamble in OT against Fontainebleau.

Against Ponchy and Northshore he started Dereje Gaspard and they won both games with more of a run-first attack. This team should not be 2-5.

My biggest issue is that he’s asking Tott to do things that are not his strengths. Gonzales wants an “air raid” offense without an “air raid” QB, and that spells second-half trouble for an undersized defense.

I guess he gets the benefit of the doubt this year given what he had to work with on the team. One senior quit the team mid-season, and two others have had on-field temper tantrums that got them benched.
