People post a picture of the badges and block out the badge # to not get caught. So AGNC developed some secret way of figuring it out using the color patterns on the tickets as way to identify the owner.
So if you are selling your tickets online, you’re flirting with disaster. The easiest & best solution is to just give them to me....

Looks like this may have been a lottery winner. They probably have a specific way of identifying and tracking these tickets. I did hear, on Inside the Ropes yesterday, that ANGC changed the rule a year or so ago, that permitted you to pass the tickets to another family member, in the event of the death of the ticket holder. You are only allowed to pass them down once now. No more keeping them in the family forever. Since the waiting list for tickets closed years ago, I know it will never affect me, but someone new may get the chance at badges now.

They’ve also gotten strict because of the lottery system. They want them going to people who are going to use the tickets. Not scalp them.

Friend of mine, his dad gets tickets every year through his company - has said numerous times do not sell tickets rather "loan" tickets. His dad has said a number of times they can ask you to show your badge number and check it against an ID. Not sure if that is enforced that much. I do like this rule though, don't sign up for tickets if you are just trying to flip them.

The lottery is such a cool deal letting so many different people be able to experience Augusta National for cheap. I’m glad that people scamming the system by reselling the tickets is being more discouraged.

Especially when you’re one of the guys for going on 7 years receiving his annual “We regret to info you...” email in June.
Maybe next year.

Some buddies and I bought the Scotty Cameron Masters Putters from BP and promptly sold them on eBay for a nice little profit - found out that they had some "task force" that was watching for this so we pussed out and quit doing it. Those putters were sweet and brought in $3K+ a piece.

You'd have to have thousands of different color patterns. Wouldn't every ticket have to look different? Plus, you could just post an ad for tickets without the picture, explaining why you aren't showing a photo.

I think either
the photo is BS,
the photo is real and ANGC found out some other way,
the photo is real, the tickets are that complicated , the members have so much money they don't care, rules are rules

If your a bage holder and pass away, you can transfer tickets to your spouse.
