Celebrating our 15th anniversary - we have narrowed down to two options:
San Juan Islands off Washington coast
OR
Split between Tahoe and Sonoma
We’ve done Sonoma before but never the other locations.
Anyone have some advice on Best direction to go here?

I absolutely love the islands off Washington. I want to retire on Whidbey Island.
With that said, how long are y'all wanting the trip to last? A few days on the islands is really all that is needed.
Now, of course, you could also spend some days in Seattle or on the Olympic Peninsula, which IMO, is the most beautiful region in the lower 48.

We have a week with no kids to play with.

I would spend a couple of days on the Olympic Peninsula then go up to the San Juans.
Sunset picnic on La Push Beach #2 is romantic af.

Those are two very good options. Tahoe in the summer is absolutely breathtaking and coupled with a few days popping around Sonoma, that would be my choice.

I heard Grand Isle is nice this time of year.

Hmm, I'd lean toward the San Juans, simply because I've never been. Sonoma/Tahoe is pretty damn fine, tho. What a nice choice to make....

This and the Olympic peninsula is perfect for an anniversary. Beautiful, memorable, romantic

Somewhere out west for sure in the Summer. My wife and I packed up the SUV went to Marfa/Santa Fe/Taos/Telluride last summer. The summer before that we went to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone Ntl Park. It's great to escape reality every now and then in places like this.

It's a lot like a more developed Southeast Alaska. I really like the Olympics and the North Cascades.

You’ve got a week just with the spouse, for me a week on the San Juan Islands would be a bit too long.
It’s beautiful but I like moving about and seeing things.
Maybe a bareboat charter for a week there.
Sonoma/Tahoe would be my lean of the two options you presented.
Or Oregon and a bit of North Cali.
But either of your suggestions would work.
