After he sues the city and becomes a multi-millionaire, can we make him chief of the St. George Police Department? Howie Lake and Dabadie can be Deputy Chiefs.

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The attorney representing Baton Rouge Police officer, Blane Salamoni, says he expects his client will be fired by BRPD by the end of the week.
Attorney John McLindon says if that happens, Salamoni will appeal the decision and fight to keep his job.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is conducting an internal affairs investigation into the July 2016 shooting of Alton Sterling by Officer Salamoni. The department says it could announce a decision by Friday.
After he sues the city and becomes a multi-millionaire, can we make him chief of the St. George Police Department? Howie Lake and Dabadie can be Deputy Chiefs.

I know he could sue, will he win?

Hope he wins. Broome needs to be swept out of office.

He should NOT be fired... But The Mayor will make sure that happens because she will think it will help keep the peace.. even though its not warrented.............

I’m sure Walker or Denham PD would hire him. Maybe they can give him one of those sweet homes that look like everyone else

Depends on the language of the employment contract/labor agreement and the policy he allegedly violated.
I have a hard time believing that there is contractual justification and precedent for firing an officer for saying "frick."
According the experts that opined in the AG investigations, Salamoni's biggest issues had nothing to do with his behavior towards Sterling but rather decisions which created a greater risk of harm for Lake.

Hopefully he gets paid.
If this was actually enforced I'd bet at least half the cops in America would be fired.

I'm pretty sure there's a certain amount you can actually be awarded if you win a lawsuit against the government. And it can take forever to get any money out of it. I could be wrong. I just know from my past life from working at DOTD about what happened with suits there. In any case, he won't be a multi millionaire. He's just getting screwed.

McLindon is a great attorney, Salamoni will have a good shot at an appeal with him
