I lived in Louisiana for 15 years and I don't believe it. Then when moved to Houston and shocked how much I was paying for electric in Baton Rouge. Electric bill in Baton Rouge was around $1300 per year for a small 1,200 sq ft house. Then in Houston pay $860 a year for a 2 story 2,450 sq ft home. Thanks to energy deregulation several years ago.
