Why exactly is the Stormy Daniels story important?

I’ll admit, I’ve not followed this story closely other than seeing bits and pieces. Here’s a rundown of what I know.
1. She claims she let Trump frick her like 10-20 years ago.
2. I’ve heard something about a non-disclosure she signed.
3. I know she did an interview on 60 Minutes but I didn’t watch it.
So why exactly is this a story that it seems the media is trying to make into a big deal?
Help me understand why this should be important to me.

The actual facts don't matter that much - it was consensual sex way before he got into the White House. It's the end result that the MSM is after. It's important to them because it could potentially end Trump's marriage, alienate his family, cause internal White House strife, etc in the hopes that it ultimately leads to his downfall as President.

I think the point is to prove that the attractiveness of women that claims to have slept with Trump is much higher than that of most politicians.

Well, that’s the problem. I see all these threads and it honestly don’t want to have fo sift through them all trying to figure out why this is a national story that the media seems to be making a huge deal out of. So I started this thread in the hope someone could give a concise explanation of why this is a story.

The only thing I can think of is something about Trumps lawyer paying her to stay quiet as being illegal. I have no idea why this would be illegal, but they say it could be.
Oddly enough, that isn't the main talking point. The media is more onto the details that I would normally see on my wifes shows on Bravo which have absolutely no bearing on the presidency.
