2.

Glad I got my fill of Mexico during the 1990s. I'll never go back.

They look Iowa-y. Still , thoughts and prayers to the family left behind.

And yes , Mexicans are lying.

But they got to experience another culture!!! Beats vacationing at a boring old US beach, like Hawaii or Virgin Islands.

That sucks. Whatever happened to that family that was last seen walking across the border and then ever ever seen again?

Good luck getting any truth out of Mexico about this. No way Mexico will damage their tourism from the US cash cow.

The violence in Mexico had for the most part stayed away from tourist areas. Once tourists start dying you can say adios to your American tourism money.

I’ve driven the Cancun to a Tulum road and on to Coba. No problems during the day. Stopped at night by the gendarmes before. That got scary AF, fast.

My advice, leave Cancun for Tulum/Coba early and get back before late afternoon.

well , there's your problem! I work in Mexico. Gringos need a Mexican driver, period.

"On Wednesday at 7 p.m., Amy sent a text to our mom that said, 'We made it to our condo,'"
allegedly. Who knows who sent that text. Gringo driving down lonely Mexican road at night, what could possibly go wrong.

They were stopped and robbed.

I’m in Mexico - usually Juarez - more months than not. I’m white AF and speak high school Spanish. And it’s fine.

Dumb southern people have this weird obsession with making Mexico out to be something it isn’t. Very weird.

Carry on.

sheesh, lot of Mexican hate pent up in the first two pages of the thread. Mexico undoudbtely has its shithole locations, but these people probably vacationed where hundreds of Americans do daily year round, but corrupt Mexican police are covering up a murdered family and put them back in their condo all nice and neat? Lol ok

Definitely misinformation from Mexican Police. I find it highly unlikely they all died from Carbon Monoxide release

Not as unlikely as you would hope.

You see how fast Mexicans can put up condos in America. Imagine how fast they can do it in Mexico.

REUTERS: Iowa family of four found dead in Mexico killed by gas

quote:

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - An Iowa family of four found dead at their vacation condominium in a Mexican seaside resort suffocated from gas, according to autopsies, local authorities said on Saturday.

There were no signs of foul play or suicide, Quintana Roo state prosecutors said in a statement. Civil protection experts examined the condo’s gas installations and would issue their findings later, the statement said.

The bodies of Kevin Sharp, 41, his 38-year-old wife, Amy, and their children Sterling, 12, and Adrianna, 7, of Creston, Iowa, were discovered early on Friday by authorities in the small coastal resort on Akumal on the Yucatan Peninsula, about an hour from Cancun.

A spokeswoman for the state prosecutors office said officials could not comment on whether the owner of the condo could face any liability until after investigations were completed.
