I think Wade is trying to create a culture of toughness and he's (to some degree) kind of used this season as a bit of a "throwaway" to do that. He's ok with losing games (this season), if it means the program is tougher going forward.
Jones had ZERO accountability in his program. Poor effort was never a huge concern and last year's team quit on him. Wade is trying to change that and if it means wearing out his guys this season, so be it.
Hopefully now he has a baseline for the program culture and the new guys coming in will adapt rather than having to be taught.
