You don't say.

It won’t look comically huge when they’re the only two engines on the 777.

Fans are only like 3 inches bigger than the current 777

It might be the same diameter as the current GE-90-115b, which has a 128" fan.
It’s just slightly bigger.
But yeah, visually you wouldn’t notice a difference compared to the current 777
In spite of getting dog piled for it, that guy was right: it only looks odd on the smaller plane.

What does your title even mean?
Posted on 3/17/18 at 12:14 am to upgrayedd
You know I think they could save the 747 if they developed a two engine model and jacked the gears up a bit to increase the ground clearance.

I don't think he thought it through.

It always surprises me how much some of you know about the current fleet of planes, the different models, and issues facing each model as well as trends in the market and who’s buying what. I have no idea about any of that shite. I mean, I know a 747 from a DC-10 but that’s about it.

The plane literally has PROPULSION TEST PLATFORM written all over it.
Reading is not that hard.

Jesus H. Christ. What's conspicuously absent is "747" or any indication from you that the plane you posted multiple photos of is a 4 engine plane while the 777 is a completely different plane with only 2 engines. To note these facts would mean no thread.

Apparently thinking is as previously noted. Thread's not salvageable, dude.

Truck nut equivalents for jets?

You're seriously suggesting that too many people are too stupid to see PROPULSION TEST PLATFORM written on the plane itself and understand it as such.
Wow.
Gotta love the bigotry of low expectations.

No, I mean what I said:

Yet here you are trying to salvage it. You know what else "looked amazingly and comically huge" on a 747? The Space Shuttle. Why don't you go start another inane thread about that. WTF are you anyway, Tiny Elvis? "Hey man, get a load of that engine. That sucker's huge!" Like I said in my first post, it would be interesting to speculate on the competence of GE's aviation division WRT to GE as a whole, because the recently relieved Jeff Immelt ran that company into the ground.

Spocks, you got beat. Its ok, go home and put a steak on your black eye.

If you're too stupid to see PROPULSION TEST PLATFORM written all over the plane itself and not infer as such, then there's no helping you.
Good day sir.

Then start your own thread nerd.

They must have a huge amount of rudder trim dialed in, or they pull back the power on the two starboard engines to compensate for the additional drag of that engine.
