GG has always been anti-LSU, no one reads that dude, some can tolerate him, but seen enough of his work to not even care what he writes. Anti-LSU people, and there’s a lot of them out there, with all the coaching changes, in state rivals, etc. like him for the bias, but most here don’t care for him and won’t read him, they know!

Maybe Marlin should grow up and not run his mouth. Just a thought.

Will was totally within his right to respond to the childish shite spewed by the usl coach all week. Wade never responded until the game was over, which was the appropriate way to handle it. Even then, he only commented after being asked about the other coach's comments. He provided fact after fact that shut that garbage down when he gave specifics regarding strength of schedule, rpi, upcoming home and home opponents and so forth.

Just seems like Wade is intimidating some folks lol and guess what? He's just getting started. Personally, I love it that LSU has a young, hot shot coach who walks around with a wheel barrel to carry his balls. Y'all don't like it? Then outrecruit him and beat him. Doesn't seem like to many are gonna be doing much of either in the foreseeable future

That article wasn't poorly written or inflammatory, but he's picking low-hanging fruit here writing this the morning after. It's very short-sighted. So they gave us a good game on a night where we played our worst basketball in months, now we should play every year?

What about next year when the only three decent ballplayers they have (#4, 30 and 32) are gone, and we add 4 blue chips and a former JUCO POY transfer and drop a 30 point shelling on them? Is the general LA basketball fan going to still demand this game? Of course not. I don't see any problem with this article in terms of pot-stirring, I just think there were much more interesting sub-plots and matchup-type conversations that he could have written about. Must have been on a tight deadline to get this out.

I agree it was a fair article. Want to know something ironic? UL fans can't fricking stand Guilbeau either and we all view him as an LSU homer. This article is actually one of the better written ones I've ever seen him write. Everything in it makes sense and he pointed out some interesting tid bits.
You got me to bite with that so I clicked and read the article. It was absolutely not fair and completely biased against LSU and toward ULL. Anyone else thinking about giving him more clicks, don't bother.

I think Will Wade has been a home run since he's been here.

I will say one thing that I agree with though. In years to come, I wonder if will Wade will look back on this week with some regret. If he truly wants to become a Roy Williams or even a Coach K of basketball, he should not have let this guy get under his skin so much, or at a minimum, should not have showed it. It's one thing to use it as motivation, but it was obvious that he was really bothered by it, continuing on even after he won the game.

Maybe it's part of the process. He's young and fired up. The fact that he got so involved in a petty local rivalry bodes well that Wade's invested in LSU's long term future. I hope one day he looks back and regrets letting Marlin get to him this week. If he does, it would mean that he has reached a level of success that he and LSU both aspire to.

Disagree. Will Wade is trying to build a program and culture. He's trying to galvanize the LSU community. His confidence, fight, and willingness to say frick you if you choose to come at us like that will only endear him to anyone who wasn't already solidly behind him and what he's building here. Assuming your heart is really with LSU, how can you not love the guy??

I do. I just hope that he becomes so successful here that one day he looks back an thinks he should not have let Marlin ruffle his feathers that much.

I normally am of the same opinion on Guilbeau, but just for kicks clicked on this article this morning. My god was that the biggest steaming pile of shite on a page. Im not asking for media bias, but how can you shite on a coach for finding ways to A. bring attention to the program, and B. make a huge statement to future recruits that he is 100% in on LSU and making it better and defending its integrity. What a complete joke. That is officially the last time i ever read a Guilbeau article.

The article was fair and factual. I am not a Guilbeau fan but there is nothing unfair about his article.

It wasn't terribly balanced. I agree that Wade showed some immaturity and he shouldn't let his emotions get the better of him. He should have more poise. I'll give him a pass because of his age.
Back to the balanced part. The USL coach definitely took shots at LSU before the game. LSU didn't make the seedings the committee did. Like all the pissant coaches who whine about their bowl selection and then get their asses handed to them, Kool-aid Man (his red jacket was clownish) let his arse do the talking. Prove the selection committee wrong by winning. Let your game speak for itself.
Guilbeau is no LSU homer. I think he attend Mizzou for his undergrad work. He's always had a stick up his arse about LSU. He can turn on a dime on any LSU subject or personality as it suits him. His opinions have little to do with objectivity.
