Do you have heavy winds? If so a Bartlett or Bradford Pear is not for you unless you enjoy warm strolls in the rain picking up branches and admiring a tree that has half the trunk missing when the limbs broke off.

My tree guy said the one of the absolute worst trees to plant in south Louisiana is a Bartlett/Bradford pear. They apparently snap like toothpicks in a stiff breeze.
