You don't tip on the booze at a table. The server does no extra work whether I order a $20 bottle or a $200 bottle. $1-2/ drink if you order at the bar.

Except he pays the bartender a percentage of his SALES so as your bill goes up the more your waiter has to give to the busser, host, and bartender regardless of what kind of sales it was.

Your server most likely has to tip out a percentage of her tips to the bar based on her alcohol sales.

this is false. I haven't been a server since college but if the bartender has to make the drink the server has to tip out the bartender at the end of the night. So by you not tipping on your drinks your cheapass is screwing your server over.

This argument is so dumb. The server doesn’t do anything extra if you order a $50 steak or a $5 ham and cheese sandwich. You tip 20% no matter what when you dine at a restaurant.

They have to tip out the bartenders a percentage of their alcohol sales. So they are paying for you to drink if you don’t tip on your drinks. Think people.

The server in almost every restaurant pays the bartender for the drinks he serves you (bottles of wine). It’s called tip out. Depending on the place servers keep about 10-12% of the standard 20% check on the whole bill.
