My wife's district starts at 50K in the Houston area.

The schools here in Altus are the most depressing thing ive ever seen.
The school on base is light years ahead of the local school and is ranked on of the best in the state. Anymore with base access tries to get their kids in the elementary school.
Its so poor here, they don't want to close schools when the weather is bad bc so many local kids depend on the free lunch as their only meal of the day.
