They said the robot was made by a subsidiary of CaliBurger. So this is kind of a DIY robot. I'm sure the cost would come down a good bit at scale. Still $60k is 3 years of a $10 an hour full time employee. If it's reliable and maintenance costs aren't too bad, that's a short time for it to pay for itself. It's even shorter when you figure it will be covering 2-3 full time shifts and pay for itself in 1-2 years.

flippy won't make us burgers no more bc they are not healthy for human race and will only feed us vegan burger with spinach.
