A little known part of WWII, allied forces drove around 1,000 Japanese troops into the swamps during the Battle of Ramree Island. They were flanked, and decided the swamp was their best option, taking a straight line to a fortified position on the other side of the island. During their time there, allied forces could hear blood curdling screams at night. Saltwater crocodiles infested the swamps, and fed on axis troops nightly until their will broken and they surrendered. The crocs ate an estimated 500 Japs.
I guess they wanted Asian food.

The pic with Sammy Davis Jr. and Clint Eastwood is interesting. SDJ was a highly skilled marksman with handguns. He competed at the highest levels in quick draw/rapid fire competitions.

Is that very low ceiling or during flight? If the later, where is the engine glow?
I would thick low ceiling. I doubt they would have even launched with that cloud cover.

In 1954, he lost his left eye in a car accident.
That pretty amazing if he did that after his car accident.
