My dad hasn’t had a drink in 29 years. He’s extremely active in sponsoring. One thing he has mentioned is that now there’s more people who were into drugs than just alcohol and it’s changed the culture. I’ve been to a good number meetings with him, and they’re humbling.

It's the same addiction, some just use it as an excuse to use another drug, I can't smoke weed but I can drink or i can't do cocaine, or just go to NA meetings and continue to drink.
I was a speed freak and coke addict, when I didn't have either I drank, the end results where the same, and I never been to a N.A. meeting.
