It should absolutely be optional. And very few people should be knowledgeable as to which teachers are armed.

Go beyond that, schools need to ensure teachers are responsible enough to carry.
We bemoan public schools and teachers constantly. If my kids are required to be there, I want to know their teacher with the firearm isn't a total moron.

Doubt anyone will be forced to carry.
Should registered and legal gun carrying parents be allowed to carry on school grounds? Serious question.
How would we feel about that? Parents picking up their kids, parent/teacher conferences, etc. Can they bring their gun on campus?
