A shame we can't prosecute cops for cowardice.

They want to dress up and play Rambo but heaven forbid they be held to same standards as soldiers, including desertion or cowardice.

He should have to give back all the money he earned working at the school all these years

Well. As fun as that might be, I'm not thinking it's really a great idea
Not that this dude doesn't deserve every bit of derision coning his way

Actually he should do the honorable thing and kill himself.

Not prosecute. But I don’t think he should ever get another LEO job. He broke his oath to serve and protect.

This should be a lesson. Only use armed security that have been in the fire.. that have run towards danger, at some point.
That security guard probably thought he could be courageous if the time came..but when shite got real, he realized that he wasn't someone that runs towards danger, he's someone that runs away from it.

Give that deputy a white feather. Cowardice should be marked.

Most would. Many would. You've got no clue how you'll react until it happens. Hell, their training usually defaults to wait for backup.
I gave the guy shite in another thread, but in reality, I have no clue how I'd react.
ETA: I've got no problem with the guy being out of LEO for life, but I'm not naive enough to belief he's in the minority.

You are correct. Most of us don't know how we'd react. However, if it was our kids or someone else's kids, I think that would be enough to tip most of us over into action.
