Please explain how Dallas has a more diverse economy. Houston lives and dies on the price of oil.
Your right, Dallas has a much more diverse economy than Houston.

50, love has had some huge delays this week due to the storms. My wife flew out 2 hours late on Tuesday as they rolled in. Flights have been an average of 30 minutes late this week.

She made it from ATL with no issues. Still sitting on the plane waiting on a fricking gate.
I have it easy, I know she’s ready to get out of that seat.

Not to mention banks. Comerica is based here and chase, BoA, Wells Fargo, and regions all have huge presences here.

Dallas has to be the most pretentious city outside of Los Angeles. Dallas is nice and all, but littered with arseholes

It's just heavily infested with trust fund babies.

I'm in Dallas quite a bit and it varies greatly from one burb to the next. I have relatives in Carrollton and Highland Village and that area of the metroplex is nice.
Was at a conference in Irving a couple of weeks back and that area leaves a lot to be desired.
I haven't been to Houston in several years but it always felt dirtier than Dallas to me.
That said, I hate big cities and hope I never have to live either place....

I once heard the TX cities described as follows:
Dallas - white collar snobs
Houston - blue collar snobs
Austin - hippie snobs
I live in Houston. I like it. It's a very livable city inside the loop. I wouldn't call it a destination city or a city to visit for fun. It's a very vibrant, wealthy city with lots of opportunity for the ambitious soul.

Actual Irving or Las Colinas? Because Las Colinas is on the come up like BIG TIME.

Las Colinas is a nice place to work, but every time I see apartments there I wonder who the hell would ever decide to live there. There is nothing in that area aside from fast food and offices.
Also, Uptown Dallas sucks. It's nothing but college grads trying to extend their frat life and 50-year-old dudes trying to post up and hunt college arse which has all shifted to Lower Greenville and Deep Ellum.
