I will not be happy if they give him the full 5 years. Let someone else take that risk, and i absolutely want him and AD to stay long term. No GM with a brain should be offering him a max deal after this injury.
given the history of the injury, a max 3 year contract with player option for the third year is more than fair. if he can't play, he still makes $100M, if he can, he'll make more with the 2+1 deal and a new contract than he would signing a 5 year deal.
All that being said, Cousins should always do what's best for him. If someone offers him 5 year max, he'd be dumb not to take it, i just hope no one does that.

Pels have always leverage with 5th year.
Others can only give 4. And lower raises.
