The offense will get going. I’m more worried about the pitching. We’re so far along removed from the days of a Gausman and Nola rotation. You’d figure we would’ve learned from last year with Hess but i guess not. Ik it’s only game 2 but man, things look rough. I was hoping baseball would be able to make up for what football has let me down on but damn.

Next weekend will be a good series to see where we're at and see what CPM does with the pitching line up.

It’s the second game of the season.

Everybody knew this team had a lot of question marks in key areas.

Lange/Poche/Walker were our 1-2-3 last year. Yeah....we are very far removed from having good starting pitching.

Since I hurt your feelings so bad in the last thread, I'll call you fricking stupid again in this one.

last year we started the same damn way (except Poche'). things will get ironed out whether Hess is the starter or not. the number of walks we issued last year was frightening (starters and pen). maybe there is a problem concerning pre season preparations, who knows?

Slaughter won’t be starting whenever everybody gets back correct?

First time Hess is getting real starting experience, spring nd fall ball is different. It's a lot of pressure to start opening night for Gilbert. I think we are good.

Sunday starter will be a big ? I just hope we find someone who can fill that role well by SEC play.

On the other side fo things, bullpen good so far which is a surprise.

Veitmeyer is showing a lot of promise. Maybe one of the other freshmen pitchers can step up and just move those two back to the bullpen

Jeeez....

It was only a year ago that people were shitting themselves over how bad we looked. And we ended up in the National Title series.

Baseball isn’t football. We don’t need to dominate every game. Give them time to gel for fricks sake.

Lange, Poche, and Walker we're 123 last year....

You're right though. SO far removed.

Mainieri will be exposed this year for the clown he is. A quality program doesn't EVER find itself in a position where Gilbert is your #1, and a two inning reliever is your #2 starter. Going to be a loooonnnnng ride this year boys!!

It’s so early.... let them settle in to the season of dealing with the emotion of playing again. Please remember we were 9-4 at one point last year. Not trying to compare just saying chill out and let them play.
