I agree with Chris. 8-4 is the ceiling.

Who the hell is chris Landry and why should I care?
Posted on 2/16/18 at 8:05 am to 1999
That would've worked also but you have to admit our kickers sucked big time. I've said it before and will say it again, will take a 1 pt. win against everyone on our schedule.

Chris Landry has spent a lifetime in football, having served as Coach, Scout and Administrator at the College Football and NFL levels. Currently, Chris operates his own Coaching and Scouting Consulting business serving both NFL organizations and College Football programs in the areas of pro and college personnel, recruiting, advance scouting as well as coaching assessment, development and searches. Prior to venturing out on his own, he served as both a Pro and College Scout for the Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans while also serving as the Coordinator of their Scouting department. Landry was selected to serve as the Coordinator of the NFL Scouting Combine in 1993 where he oversaw the selection and operation process of the top draft prospects. Chris began his NFL career with the Cleveland Browns working on the coaching staff as well as in both pro personnel and college scouting. Landry began his coaching career as a student assistant at LSU in the mid 1980’s, working his way up to a full time position before being hired by Bill Belichick and the Browns in 1992. While working as a young coach at LSU, Landry also maintained a part time scouting position with one of the NFL’s scouting arms, BLESTO. You can hear Landry frequently on radio and TV all around the country analyzing the NFL and College Football game.

-surtain’s dad wanted him to go to Bama bc he knows he will be developed there and will compete for titles. The word is out that at LSU you only will compete to get to a bowl.
This is sad he put this in writing. LSU is not about just a bowl. I am sure he interviewed players and what they want to get done as well. This is a put down on the active players not just the school. He is feeding the frenzy to fire the HC.
First I have heard of Aranda and Green Bay. The usual about using another school to get a raise meme. Saying a coordinator is hopeful the HC is let go is also not a good look for Aranda as this person is trying to portrait.

O is great at selling other people's product, seems to be struggling to sell his own brand....for good reason

LSU has not been in the national title picture since 2011. it's not unfair to say you should only expect to compete for bowls if you go there.
Posted on 2/16/18 at 8:10 am to 1999
All pretty obvious points. Sadly. Really hope Orgeron turns out to be a pleasant surprise, but we haven't seen anything to suggest that happening.

That is because he has no brand. If he had one it would be 3 years of losses at Ole Miss. One interm season at USC and one at LSU, then one season as the guy at LSU. All with mixed results. That isn't exactly something that you can sell and not have it questioned big time.

All with mixed results and winning.

exactly. what is O's brand? what kind of offense does he hope to run? we've gotten so many different answers from him i don't blame the recruits for being confused. other than "one team one heartbeat" i don't know what the guy is selling.
Posted on 2/16/18 at 8:17 am to themunch
so he was assuming guice hadn't learned from his past mistakes?

God I hope not. Pour gasoline on this dumpster fire and get Orgeron out as soon as possible. 3-8 would be a magnificent result.

I wish the admins would start whacking posters like this who WANT LSU to fail.
If you hate O that much, you need to re-evaluate your life.

See how you’re getting downvoted just for delaying info?
Maybe the down voters recognize the poster as one with an agenda rather than just a info "delaying".

Could have had a decent crack at it had we not choked away the Alabama game in 2012
That would have secured the SEC West title and a game against UGA in the SECCG. Winner of that game would have likely played a relatively weak ND team in the BCS title game and would have easily won

The OHaters are ridiculous. They’d love if LSU lost every game. Hope he shoves it down their throat this year.

No way will LSU hits Aranda to be the HC. Once O is gone, no way are they going to hire from within again. They will clean house and start over. Alleva will be let go before O. LSU is not going to allow Alleva to make the next football hire. They would not want the new AD to inherit Alleva’s guy. They will let the new AD hire his own guy.
