What are your thoughts on the Saints trying to pry Fitz from Arizona and what would you give up? Personally I think he fits exactly what we need...great hands, 3rd down rcvr, good run blocker. I'd give up 4th this year and 3rd next but not much more due to being more of a rental

Why? It's the off-season where we try to find players to take the team to the next level. I think he does personally. What are your views on the subject?

If Arizona was giving him up for a 6th rounder, I’d jump on that so fast. Fitz is one of those timeless wonders and he’s foaming at the mouth to play for a winner.

A 4th and 3rd for pretty much a 1yr rental? No, that's amazingly idiotic.

Cooper Kupp and Alvin Kamara were found in the 3rd round and will contribute for a decade if they stay healthy.

You'd likely get him for a 4th or 5th alone.

Here's the problem.. even if you get him for that 6th like I suggested, you have to pay him $11,000,000 in 2018 which would make him the 3rd highest paid player on the team next season (before knowing what Drew will get)

is this just your opinion?

he's been in AZ since 2004, I doubt he wants to leave

What you say he has we have in spades. What he is not and what we need more of is speedy fast and faster slot receivers.

Although a 3rd & 4th is a lot I think he puts the offense over the hump in the area we seemed to fail in...3rd downs. And that is only if you can assume that there are kamaras available in 3rd round every year. They are an anomaly not a rule. Would you not trade those 2 picks for a Superbowl? The money however would be very difficult to swallow. Only makes sense if he takes less to play for a contender which the cardinals are not.

4th and 3rd?

You're fricking crazy. One pick at best and not even a 4th.

Would love to have him. Think how good he would be with Drew Brees.
All about the price though.

He’s not leaving Zona. Zona isn’t trading their legend.

Would you rather spend 14mil on an elite slot receiver and keep him for 4-5 years

or

trade a 3rd, 4th, and pay an elite slot receiver 11mil for 1 year.

yeah...

If you pay 11M for one or two years then you have money to pay Kamara/Thomas/Ramcyk. 14 M over 4-5 years hinders that and payroll flexibility for years to come. This option although expensive would leave options in relative short order

Say you sign Landry to a 4yr/56mil contract, you have him through the 2021 season.

Thomas goes through 2019
Kamara goes through 2020
Ramczyk with the 5th year option goes through 2021

The likelihood would be 2021 would be an easily cut year too, so that doesn't hinder you for years to come.

Giving up a 3rd and 4th just took away 2 rookie contracts for a 1 year rental. Bad management decision.

You don't even have to pay Landry, there are better receivers available that would likely cost less too.

Exactly we already have a young star in Michael Thomas who plays the same role in our offense.

He doesn't want to leave AZ. Landry would be a steal for the right price.
