There are incidents of people gaming the system no doubt. The explosion of "food Stamps"and EBT cards during the Obama Presidency was probably way overdone.

I have a client who is a grocery store GM and although he can tell you stories about people abusing the system he once told me that the vast majority of people using the Louisiana Purchase cards are older folks over 65 actually he guesses that they probably average 72-75 years of age.

Going to the grocery for them is something of a release for them since most are retired and spend a lot of time at home....it's social interaction

Why has no one mentioned that the vast majority of people on SNAP are either elderly or have full time employment? Or should we act to make life more difficult for the thousands of military personnel currently recieving SNAP benefits?

Reality is programs like SNAP are a small percentage of the federal budget. If you reduced SNAP to zero you would not significantly reduce federal expenditures, but you would create more crime.
