I understand what he's saying, and yes we have racists in this country, and that's unfortunate. But that doesn't make the US a "racist country" as a whole.

In the entire history of fricking civilization, there has not been a country (a global superpower at that) that has done as abrupt and thorough a 180 on race relations as the USA. Does that mean that we've reached nirvana and there are never any racial issues ever? Of course not. But in the entirety of human history, there has never been a better time to be a minority than being a minority in the USA in 2018. Never. Ever. And it ain't even close.
So tired of people like him trotting out 1960s era rhetoric to attempt to paint the problems of today in the same light. It's disingenuous, deceptive, and divisive.
The USA in 2018 is not a racist country. Nor has it been for longer than I've been alive, tbqh. It's a slap in the face to those who actually fought for real civil rights to intimate otherwise.
