sheesh. only Pels talk can take a post about a young player's growth and turn it into a "blame the coach" rant

Because this isn't something new. We have been saying this for months. It's literally something Wesley and Myers have saying. You can't develop guys if they don't play. A desperate coach resorts to 8 player lineups in the regular season.

perhaps. also, what about fouls and blown assignments?

It's going to happen. Hell even 15 minutes I'm sure there's a ton, but it's something every coach who develop players live with. That's part of the game.

It's not like they were sooooo phenomenal defensively otherwise. We had a ton of blown assignments.

maybe Diallo could have done that and they blew it. also, maybe he wasn't ready to do that 2 months ago.

you know, he just might be playing better b/c of, not in spite of, the work he and the staff have done this season.

Learning vs doing. There's a balance between both, gentry totally ignored development on the court for more veterans presence with lower ceilings. It's been that way since day 1

In Gentry's defense, despite regular playing time it still took Buddy until the end of January before it looked like he was turning the corner to becoming a useful player. Cheick playing minutes in December wouldn't guarantee he'd have been a positive by early January, but it probably would have guaranteed a few more losses as bad as he looked early.

I think the not playing Asik 5-10 MPG when AD/DC were desperate for rest was the more questionable coaching call.

oh. well, in that case....

like i said already, maybe the staff did indeed blow it by not letting Diallo play more earlier. entirely possible.

what is funny is that you cannot fathom the possibility that Diallo/staff worked together to get him to this spot. no one was blaming the coaches 2 months ago for not playing Diallo when he looked like hot garbage. now that he has had a solid 80 minute run over 6 games (!!!), it's what the frick have the coaches been doing.
