Trip to New York City in June

Planning to visit my brother n law and his family in June. They just moved about 15 min from NYC. What are some must things to do. Will have my wife and 2 kids with me ages 8 and 10. Thanks in advance..

Need more info. What do y’all like to do. Have you looked on line or on this board for stuff of interest? Museums, broadway, parks, etc? Also, where do they live that is 15 mins from NYC? You can be 45 mins or more from one place in manhattan to another. Are the across the river in Hoboken?

Not that it's totally integral to planning your time in NYC, but where is "15 minutes from NYC"? Total assumption, but I am guessing this is by train and they're either on NJ Transit or Metro-North? One takes you into Penn Station and the other to Grand Central.
