If Orgeron were half the coach or person Les was, LSU football wouldn’t be such a flaming pile of shite right now.

The program isn't where we want it to be but it's hardly a pile of ####. We went 9-4 last year and missed going 10-3 because of one fluke play. Catastrophe syndrome has set in in The Rant!!

There has been plenty of interest in Les. But Les has had no legitimate interest in return, and who can blame him. Although he is required to make a reasonable attempt at finding a job, which is why you occasionally see him linked to jobs (Tennessee, Minnesota, Purdue, etc)

Who in their right mind would go work and earn the same amount as not working?

Les may or may not go back into coaching, but it certainly won’t happen until The numbers make sense to do so, which they absolutely do not at the present time.

It would be different if Les was a young up-and-comer that couldn’t “professionally” afford a 3-4 year absence, but that’s definitely not Les, he was closing in on retirement already when let go at LSU.

No, I am/was a CLM fan. I just find it odd that he hasn't landed a job.

Assume you are making $100,000, and you have a contract. Let’s say your company fires you and you get to sit at home making $100,000.

Now let’s assume another company comes to you and offers you a new job at $80,000/year plus bonuses. But the catch is that you no longer get the $100,000 from your previous employer if you take this job.

Which option are you taking...

A) $100k for doing nothing

Or B) $80-$120k to work 40-60 hours per week

While I’ve simplified here, This is not very complicated. The choice is easy and straight-forward unless your future earnings far outweigh the current contract.

What's alarming is the fact that Les has been fired since 2016 and your dumbass is still posting about him..... Have you been keeping up with LSU football? stop bitching about Les and start bitching about the current situation that King, Joe, and Bebe have gotten us into...... by time this shite show is finished We all will be begging for the miles era....

Isn't it alarming that not one other school has shown any interest in hiring him. Kind of tells the tale, right?

Isn’t it alarming that lsu’s Current coach was 3-21 in the sec at his last job and did not get one single interview between now and then and wasn’t even considered for the usc job when he was interim. Kind of tells the tale, right?

No. It is age related....There is a difference between managing and coaching an existing a product you have built versus coming and recreating a product from the ground up. The perception ( and likely reality) is the former is ok for an old coach, whereas the latter is a young man's game.

He also was rejected in his bid to coach the Florida A&M Rattlers, even after agreeing to work for nothing if he could bring his "team" w/him.

For the majority of us who have no idea what or who you are talking about, how about some detail.

I'm going to assume that the "one fluke play" you're talking about is the long pass play for Notre Dame's winning touchdown in the bowl game.

So I'll see your fluke play and raise you one fluke play (Florida's missed extra point) in a LSU win and say we still go 9-4 for the year. I realize that would have tied the game and it goes to overtime, but I personally don't believe we would have beaten Florida that day if the game goes into overtime.

I'll also add that with the way Ed o's teams have not shown any consistency in beating teams with a pulse, 9-4 isn't anything to brag about (in my opinion) in a year where LSU played one of the weakest schedules in years.

I'm glad you posted this. It amazes me how some of the knuckleheads on here continue to bring up Miles (who's been gone for over 16 months) while the eddy o show is stumbling all over himself trying to keep his head above water.
