Mike Archer was worse because of who they turned down- Steve Spurrier and Mike Shanahan for starters.
If Herman turns out to be the next Spurrier, that will change.
O is the worst decision of the three. Archer was a promotion from within. There are other highly successful coaches (like Osborne) who were promoted from within. Hallman was a young up and comer. Just like Urban Meyer. A lot if schools would have taken him.
O was a catastrophic failure at his previous gig. Only one coach (Stallings) won a title after being fired from an earlier gig, and at least he had a conference title under his belt.

Herman didn’t want the LSU gig. Spurrier did. He sat in the office, did the interviews , asked for the job. Herman used LSU to leverage Texas. And Herman is not Steve Spurrier.
You guys are just emotional about this because it’s current.

So archer wasn’t as bad as a hire because he was promoted from within...the exact same way Orgeron was.
