Umm when you are no longer given a choice to remain on, you are essentially fired. Optics wise, it is much better to have a half dozen people essentially retire than to allow the left the opportunity to run with the narrative that Trump is firing everyone at the top of the fbi and DoJ.

It is about as easy to fire a FedGov civilian employee as it was for somebody to walk up to Adolf Hitler in 1940 and say, "Mr. Hitler, you are FIRED."
