Really? Regardless of who tells us? So no expert opinions from you anymore. Is a pic of you?

Well here in New Orleans, military units parade in every Mardi Gras parade. They range from junior ROTC grade schoolers, to the USMC Band.
During the Saint’s parade Navy Commander Kelly Sullivan and Lt. Commander Rigel Pirrone, stationed at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station’s Joint Reserve Base, piloted two F-18 Hornets over the parade route.
The 4th of July was a political event. But without the Continental Army Adams and Jefferson would have hung.
Mardi Gras parades are a drunken orgy. Hardly military grade.

I don’t care about the money in the cause of patriotism. I love that we “waste” money on a ship that couldn’t hold its own against a swift boat, the USS Constitution. I love the time, money, and effort spent on the pomp and circumstance at the Tomb of the Unknowns. I like air shows and showing the flag port call.
But to pretend that this would be a bad thing that only despots would do is asinine.
OK, so lets try to bring the swastika back. Hey, historically it means "good luck", so frick the Nazis for stealing that. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams didn't have a problem with swastikas. Who cares if we're sending off a despotic message because Thomas Jefferson would be fine with it? I suggest we do what we want to do regardless of who agrees or disagrees.

This is America.
Nobody tells us anything. We argue amongst ourselves. We decide for our selves. We chose to parade or not.
Every country’s military parades Nancy. The good, the bad, the strong, and the weak parade. They parade today and tomorrow. They have paraded for millennia. Americans then and now parade.
I’m detecting a lot of anti American military in many of these no parade posts. Don’t know about you Nancy.

Back off Nancy! I’m spoken for!

Most aren’t drunk. And unfortunately the orgies are rare and private. The military units marching and playing are very military grade from USA, USN, USMC, USAF, and USCG. I’ll fess up. Some of the really young JrROTC units need work.

You actually fell into a point here. Frick the Nazis! They don’t deserve to steal the symbol of people of the world. I saw the “V for Victory” hand symbol changed by hippies into a “Peace Sign”. It could be done.

Again I’m picking up anti American military vibrations from you!

I’m glad we can end on a high note of agreement!
