Thanks benne. I believe most of what you described was spot on to how our dynamic has been. She does most of the childcare and she is feeling a little burnt out. Now that Charli (our daughter) is becoming “easier” to take care of, I have been helping out more.

That’s likely one of the core issues right there. You are not “helping out”. You are raising your daughter. You are her father. You should be doing just as much as mom, with the obvious exception of breastfeeding. There’s no excuse for you to not have been pulling your weight when it comes to childcare. She is home all day with a baby. That is not an easy day. Adult interaction is limited, and you are at the mercy of an infamt’s schedule and physical needs. Then you come home and expect her to have a clean house and dinner in the table (I know you haven’t said this specifically, but I am reading between the lines).
I wouldn’t like you very much either if I were her. Pull your weight around the house and especially with your daughter. Don’t be one of those men who thinks it’s not their job to change diapers, feed, and clean up after the baby.
