He has way more material for this movie than any of the prequels. He should shred this movie to pieces.
Especially since Abrams took his advice almost to a fault, and then Rian disregards all of it and has directly admitted to seeing their reviews. The most damning and first point is who is the protagonist, which this movie completely lacks. It will make it even better knowing that Rian Johnson will watch it.

I personally don't think RLM will be as harsh with The Last Jedi as you guys think. Rian Johnson is a fan of their channel and I doubt they go as rough on Johnson's film as they did on the prequels.
The fact of the matter is, while TLJ looks better than the prequels and features better acting, it is actually inferior to just about all three of them in terms of everything else. The story, once you start thinking about it on a logical level, falls apart completely. It almost destroys whatever good will the franchise built back up with TFA and Rogue One and makes me feel indifferent for whatever comes in Episode IX.
If this Solo stand alone film is as bad as everyone thinks it will be, who knows what Disney will do with the franchise going forward?
