They were young and thin on the lines due to injuries and suspensions early in the season. At one point, they were starting 3 freshman on the offensive line, 2 freshmen on the defensive line, had only 6 healthy scholarship o-linemen, and only 5 healthy scholarship d-linemen. However, the team got healthier and more mature as the year wore on as veterans returned from injury, and guess what, the line play got significantly better as a result.

So yes, where it mattered on the lines, they were very very young.

Next year, all of those freshmen who were forced to start games will be expected to start all year. We should be far deeper and more experienced on both lines. However, we will be far less experienced at QB, HB, FB, and CB.

I think you are confusing production with youth. No question that LSU played tons of freshman. Hopefully they produce next year.
