Miles Miles Miles....
Geez.. He is long gone... Either support the team or find another team to root for....

What about a four loss team?
Yea, I don't know what I was thinking. I'm blaming the flu that is destroying me today.
The point I was trying to make is that returning starters, for a team that wasn't top 20 material is only a positive if those starters have the potential to improve and improve greatly.

If they were the starter, that either means the backup was not as good, or your coach cant see talent and started the worse player....

But none of that really matters. Returning starters has long be a staple of college football discussions and I don't think many people take the time to discern the pros and cons of the subject. Its just one of those talking points that almost always gets accepted as being beneficial. Took listening to a debate between a Mississippi State fan and an Ole Miss fan for this to resonate.

I am just pointing out by production, we will have the most inexperienced team in the entire conference next year That is simply a fact
I agree. If posters want to express concerns about what the incoming OC or HC will do to put the current roster in a position to succeed, fine. That doesn't change the fact that we are replacing our starting QB, 2 top RBs, 2 top WRs and 2 starting OL. If you want to argue the incoming QB will be better great. That still doesn't change the above truth or that there will be a learning period.
I get it. People hate the HC. I'm not a fan either. Does that negate any discussion regarding the team roster, schedule or player development?

thought the argument was on how young this team was?
I think you are confusing production with youth. No question that LSU played tons of freshman. Hopefully they produce next year.

this is fantastic news for orgeron as he already has his excuse for going 7-5 built in.
just wait until next year, yall!

no but reading some of the posts in here and on this website since the offseason started, you would think 1) this is the first time LSU has ever dealt with offseason attrition 2) this is a problem unique solely to LSU, as if other P5 schools do not have to replace outgoing players.

Miles Miles Miles....
Miles was supposed to be upgraded (lol) for the good of LSU, but there's been a steady deterioration since 3 loss 2015, and we need to keep an eye on that gauge.
I haven't seen one improvement, just excuses and national proclamations of impending doom as in OP.

Damn - the Fins got a steal at 63, didn't they?
And, man, that Les Miles could frickin' recruit, yo.
Who was in charge of recruiting in 2015?
All I want to see are the excuses so i bookmarked this for November this year...
ANYTHING less than 9 wins with 1 cupcake cancelled OR 10 Wins,, this O experiment should end.

Nothing wrong wit that.. My closet has nohing but LSU gear... But yet since O is the coach and you bash him at anytime you can I thought you would want A U shirt because you already want him Fired and I am sure wearing an LSU shirt won't make A difference in who you are cheering for the 1st game next year...........

Comforting.
We just lost our two year starting QB, top 3 pass catchers and top 3 rushers, along with 2 starting OL.
In 2013 we were averaging 35.8 ppg and the 2014 team scored 27.6 ppg. We lost two year starting QB, our top 3 pass catchers including 4 of 5 top 5, two of our top 3 rushers, and Hill had over twice as many carries, yards, and TDs than any other runner. Not to mention a new OL coach teaching a new scheme.
Went from 10-3 in 2013 to 8-5 in 2014.
Like I said in a previous thread, the only thing I'm optimistic about is Aranda and his defense.

I believe I heard Connelly mention on his podcast that Giles’ Texas Tech numbers are included in our offensive total, and without it we may have been dead last.

Then we can only go UP! All joking aside, are there any data points that show what the ranking is in terms of production lost and if it translates into lack of or increased production the following year?
In other words,I wonder if playing freshmen with no real production in year one, pays benefits in year two? After all, isn't that why many thought Brennan should get more meaningful snaps last season?

Giles and Fehoko have played a lot of college football. If you brought their stats in it would be a bit better.

We'll make up for lack of returning production with great coaching
Not much of a tiger fan. We are loaded for 2018. Our defense will be nastier, and our offense greatly improved IF we can get decent QB play. Ensminger is a major upgrade to a deficient Canada.
