Jay-Z and Kanye? Sure
Kendrick doesn't have a quarter the talent of Kanye.

Hard to like a lot of them because of their stupid politics.
Bruno
Timberlake
John Legend
Adele
Rihanna
Alicia Keys
All of these folks are insanely talented.

Are you really saying Bruno Mars is more talented than Jay-Z and Kanye (Especially old Kanye)?
Yes. Kanye West has "the opposite" of talent.

Meh. Compared to who? Jay-Z and Kanye? Sure.
Compared to Bruno Mars? Not even in the same conversation.

With that being said, I find it kind of bizarre that Bruno Mars won album of the year over Jay-Z, Kendrick or Childish.

Did not watch but heard someone named Chimpino Gambino sang last night and with a name like that you have to have talent.
Childish Gambino has legitimate potential for an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony (EGOT). He was probably the most talented individual to take stage last night.
Btw, if you haven’t seen his show Atlanta on FX, I highly recommend it.

And he's playing lando in the han solo movie.

Childish
And, for the record, I think Childish is aight. At times, Jay-Z was aight - but, then he kept showing up everywhere and not contributing anything. May have been overexposure.
But, for that matter, Tupac was overexposed, but there was no denying his talent (or, for that matter, Dre) - and I say this as, obviously, not a huge fan of rap.

I typically never watch awards shows. Just never been my thing. I knew this one would be politically charged so I actually tried to watch it. It was at the beginning. It was a couple of live performances and I lost interest. I changed the channel when Despacito came on.

Kendrick and Gambino's albums were much weaker than their previous offerings and Jay-Z's flat out sucked.

Just because you don’t watch doesn’t mean others don’t

He's aight. He benefits from being played next to Luke Brian and other shitty bro pop country.

Bring back the 1980's. Van Halen , Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, Inxs, tom Petty, Crowded House, Huey Lewis, Night Ranger, 38 Special. Real talent !

The vast majority of rap is repetitive, self-indulgent, unintelligible rubbish. If you're going to be in that business, you should at least do the repetitive, self-indulgent, unintelligible rubbish as best you can.
For my money (yeah, I'm old, wanna fight about it?), Dre and Tupac were about the best at that sort of thing - from a creation and (in Tupac's case, particularly) expression standpoint. Yes, they relied heavily on samples. Maybe they just picked samples I liked as hooks.
Most of this new (c)rap?

I cannot understand the love for Donald Glover. Seriously what is his appeal?
