I would not even rank the 2011 team as a top 5 LSU team all time and none of my top five all time LSU teams would ever get out performed by a 2-10 team in the biggest game of the year.
I don't know why you feel the need to keep rehashing about this team because it's a sore subject for a lot of people on here, but they were a great team and it was all wiped out because of that 1 game. LSU was full of great athletes on that team with the Honey Badger being the best of them. The defense was opportunistic always causing TO's, and scoring a lot off those TO's.

But the offense was a typical Les Miles offense, so it's no surprise that other teams or schools scored more on Bama than LSU did like you're saying. LSU was a one dimensional team that relied heavily on the run like everyone knows by now that was QB managed, and Miles' pulled Lee out after the first Bama game and never played the guy again even though he had done a solid job leading them to an unbeaten season up to that point. He then played Jefferson the rest of the way who was described as a pro style QB, but should have been in a RPO offense because he ran so well with the football.

LSU beat a lot of ranked teams that year, and just had to finish off Alabama to go down as one of the best college teams ever, but everyone knows the rest. Besides, I don't care what people say LSU should not have had to face Alabama again, you lose the conference championship, you don't get a do over imo. And it's much too hard to beat a team like that a second time because they had everything to play for and gain, and that's exactly what happened. So, yeah I would say LSU was definitely a great team that year that never finished the perfect ending to that story.
