Tigerbait has a thread saying he will be switching sides. Anyone seen him play the position or know what kind of top end speed he's got? I imagine his running style is similar to Curry but hopefully faster

This is big. Can get big playing time from what I read about his abilities. Film looks decent. Anyone see him in person?

Queen is not needed at RB, people are pushing the panic button for no reason at all. LSU has good, quality RB's that will be alright. Ducre can be moved to halfback if needed as mentioned, that kid hasn't run for LSU at all except in practices. He was a really good RB in HS that I wouldn't mind seeing in the rotation.

I did high school radio for playoff games and saw Queen and White in action, both played both ways.

Queen was good, but did not stand out as much as White. Livonia had several college prospects that year.

White and Queen could play on either side of the ball in colege. Had LSU had a need at rb when White came out, I am sure they would have played him there. Once White hit the secondary, he was unstoppable. That said, he was ridiculous at linebacker, he blew up every run play in the playoff game I watched and I remarked often he should play lb in college. I would still have some third and short plays where I would let him play offense a few plays a game. White could play running back in the pros too.

White agreed to play lb at LSU to get on the field faster. It was a smart move.

Queen would be higher up the depth chart at running back. LSU has White, Taylor and Phillips ahead of Queen, with good freshman coming in.

At rb there is more of a wide open competition, Queen might see more playing time there. He is a versatile athlete and if I were him I would move where staff thought I had the best chance to see the field.

The Man is just a great athlete... Just like Devin White, he played both sides of the ball in HS.
He'll play where the team needs him and I'm sure he'll do us proud.. Go Patrick and

I can see it if that's what the coaches want to do. I haven't watched a ton of film on Queen, but I remember actually being quite impressed with him for a HS RB. He had more speed than what I was expecting. He seems to be faster than Curry. Only time will tell what the coaches will do. If Queens turns heads as a RB in practice, then I can see them utilize him there. Its certainly not a far stretch.

What is Queen’s current weight? Moving Queen to RB could be an effort to add size to that position.

LF7, Guice, and D. Williams were bigger than any RB on the roster next year. Brossette will be close, but Guice looked to be 10-15 lbs heavier this past season.

Ducre could also be an option in certain situations.

Are the other linebackers just ahead of him?

There are a couple of things that come into play here. Lack of depth being the biggest. This spring LSU has just three scholarship RBs on the roster, Edwards-Helaire, Brossette, and Fournette. Queen would give them four. Queen rushed for just under 1500 yards as a senior in high school and caught another 255 yards in passing so it’s not like he never played the position before. He’s 6’1”, 220 which would make him the biggest back currently on the roster. All that being said it just might be a spring experiment and he lands back at LB in the fall.

ETA: Tae Provens is an early enrollee and will also participate in spring drills.

I heard Queen was rated 4 stars in both LB and RB coming out of HS. No link.

I started a thread about this about 2 weeks ago about Queen and got slammed with downvotes lol.

What gives now?

Several posters here discussed this possibility a while back. Sounds like a good idea.
