LSU Softball officially announces Sahvanna Jaquish as the volunteer assistant coach

She will work a lot with the catchers this year and assist with the hitters and mechanical aspects. She will likely be at 1B a bit this year (coach)

Great for LSU, but it’s kinda sad to see there’s no viable professional option for these girls. Oh well.

Her dad was her hitting coach. When you have a competent coach that is a relative it makes for lots of time to discuss mechanics and philosophies. Players can become much better at understanding sequences as opposed to just being able to replicate them. Of course, as players get older they spend even more time and these kinds of things even out. Simply put, I guess, I’d say she likely has a very good handle on why what she did worked, and should be able to relay that very well to younger players.

Yep. I remember. As I recall, Jaquish dictated who the coach played, was a prima donna, and was a team cancer.
