If you don’t care about aesthetics , Just go with Bamboo. Extremely cheap. Grows roughly six foot a year up to 35’ tall. Plant roughly 5’ apart.

Bambusa Silverstripe is excellent for privacy fence.

Never ever plant that shite around your yard. That crap will run wild and almost impossible to get rid of it.

Leyland grows about 1 1/2' a year. A small one about 3' will take about 4 years to get 6'-7' tall. At that time, one can top the tree and the bottom will fill out more.

Don't know about the other.

I've been thinking of bamboo as well. I'm looking at the Bamboo Alphonse Karr variety. It's a clumping variety that won't spread, rather it just grows in a circle shape to about 10' in diameter and stops there.
