A large part of what we do depends on what we do in FA. Let's say we add a serviceable DE, LB, WR and TE in FA as well as add some backup depth at OL and DB.

Do you take the chance then?

I'm a Baker fan. If we can get him without mortgaging our entire future, I would at least consider it.

Depending on what we do in free agency.. we really won’t have many or any holes to fill in the draft.

If we sign Kelemente.. OL is done. Maybe a late pick.
If we sign Okafor DL is mostly done, could draft a pass rush specialist.

With Anzalone and Klein healthy we don’t need anyone but could draft a LB that’s a difference maker

With Breaux possibly healthy we are good at corner.

If we don’t sign Vaccaro we could draft a safety in mid rounds.

If we cut Fleener we could look at drafting a TE early

We don’t need a RB.

We could look to add a slot receiver

I say all this to point out that depending on what we do in free agency to address any of these needs, we really won’t need to have a huge draft to repeat our success this year. And drafting Mayfield provides the potential for a decades worth of success with all of this young talent

Exactly. If Baker is there in the mid teens I absolutely say go for it. Fill needs in FA as much as you can and go BPA in the draft.

Sign Drew to a 2 year deal, let Baker sit and learn the offense. If Brees goes down you have him to step in and get some experience. I think he's talented enough to keep us in games with the surrounding cast we have.
