Yes, it happens to my wife when she uses the hot water to fill the tub. At first I thought it was just shark week but that wasn't it.

Most likely, it is your hot water heater. How old is it?

The life expectancy for these is usually around 10 to 15 years. Mine is approaching 10 years now.
