I had a similar conversation with my wife while trying to watch Cleveland and Golden State the other day. There’s ZERO defense in the NBA. The officials don’t call traveling, lane violations,....I could go on. Meanwhile college officials call WAY too much. Hell, one dude called carrying on LSU against Vandy. I haven’t seen carrying called since about 1998. I know I’ll get hammered for this but I believe if they didn’t keep stats anymore, basketball would be more enjoyable. 90% of the players are playing for self glorification, higher draft position or better contracts. Do away with stats and they’d all play more like a team and the game would be more enjoyable to watch. Downvote away.

This is an odd thread, but I will respond anyway.

I like watching the NBA, but admittedly these days I mainly just enjoy watching good teams play other good teams. I do enjoy watching the Warriors play though, and can generally watch them no matter who they play. But if it's a random Tuesday night and the Bulls are playing the Magic, or something like that, I have no desire to see that. But I can watch the Cavs/Celtics/Warriors/Rockets/Spurs/etc. play each other all day long. I wish I could get into watching the Pelicans more than I do though.

I do usually watch a lot of playoffs though.

Don't make a generalization about the NBA not playing defense when watching Cleveland. They are drinking terrible on D.
