After this past election, it seems that the topic of politics is no longer taboo. People around me left and right voicing their opinions and asking for others opinions makes some awkward situations. Even our director is involved. Is this the new Norm? Should I start talking about religion and how bible is the best selling fiction book?

Hillary won the popular vote by millions, but that doesn't qualify as all of us voting for her.

OK as long as you hate Trump. If you love Trump or feel anything less than hatred for him, you better keep your mouth shut. It's routinely stated, even by senior management, that anyone who voted for Trump is a racist bigot with mental problems.

I try not to talk about politics at work. No matter what I'll likely piss someone off

We have the Underground Republican Network (URN) as we like to refer to ourselves because that’s where we’ll end up if we are found out.

the amount of people that watch 24 hour news non stop blows me away.

They have normalized political talk so much they don't realize that most of the time, normal people don't agree with either side in it's extreme state.

Same answer I give, I just say I don't like any politicians. They tell me that's cause I have privilege. Lol.

How did she "win" the popular vote? She got a larger percentage, but she didn't win.

Politics and the workplace go together like lamb and tuna fish.

There are quite a few rubes who have suddenly discovered politics and are surprised to find out that the left sucks. It’s kind of annoying at work but at least people are learning.
