Part of the issue is the age of the technology.
I'm friends with people from my hometown on FB because it's older. A lot of them never left. On twitter and IG, it's mostly college, grad, professional life friends.
Huge gulf between the stuff each contingent likes to post about.

I keep it to close friends and family, and a few community pages. Family and friends are sane, so it's all good. Community pages are interesting. Right now we have a giant bird sighting going on.
