Yet another pipe question

I was a dumbass and only dripped the cold water last night. The hot water has been out all day but nothing busted, thankfully.
But the new wrinkle is when I have the cold water going wide open, well above average room temp water comes out but the second I turn the faucet to hot nothing comes out except a trickle of very cold water for a second before nothing.
Maybe I'm just trashed, but this is a new one to me.
Wtf is this?

I only ever drop the cold

The water from a frozen pipe will always be colder than water which has run for so long that it's now coming from the well insulated ground.

That makes sense, but the water temp coming out the cold is warmer than just well insulted.
I can run the taps for hours on August and it wouldn't be this warm.
I'll just chalk it up to an anomaly and hope it warms up enough tomorrow to fix itself.

The hot water line is more susceptible to freezing than the cold side.

Had the same issue yesterday. Go outside and run your outside faucets where you connect the hoses to. Make sure you have your faucets open inside. Let me know if it works. We have a tankless water heater too fwiw

Take out your tobacco and let it air dry about five minutes.
Pack it in the pipe. Be sure that some air can get through.
Take one match and draw on it a few times. This is to prime the tobacco. Not to light the pipe.
Now take another match and light your pipe.

Just open all of your hot faucets. They’ll eventually start dripping and then running again. May take a few hours

Trust me it is. It just feels warmer/hotter right now because your skin is getting accumulated to the colder temperatures. Go outside for a couple minutes, then walk inside and open the frig door. Everything in there will feel slightly cool as if the frig is not working. Same principal with the water coming out the faucet inside the house.

Hot water will freeze faster than cold. Your problem is in the attic either before the tank or after.
Next time we have a hard freeze you can do two things.
1. turn the water heater breaker off after your evening showers and drip the hot water along with the cold over night to prevent freezing.
2. set the hot to a slow drip. This tho will cause your tank to constantly drain/fill/heat. But you will have hot water when needed
