1) Emotional plea about an individual suffering with an issue

2) Backstory on individual

3) Discussion of policy alleged to alleviate issue for individual

4) Opposition points to policy

5) Conclusion with message of hope from individual



Nearly every single media article written by an American journalists follows this pattern. It's pandering by simpletons to simpletons.

It’s called the Human Element.

It’s journalism 101 and gives you a personal connection to an issue.
