Meanwhile, just paid local Occupational Tax on my small business. It seems that ANYTHING used in the conduct of my business is subject to an annual tax. That desk willed to me by my grandfather? Pay a tax on it every year. Computer that I just paid sales tax on when purchased? Taxed again at the end of the year and every year after? What is this shite?

They are begging you to leave the state. I seriously cannot think of any other reason they would treat their business owners so poorly.

You are already the highest taxed, while receiving the least services, people in the country. Others may pay higher taxes but they get something for it.

Occupational tax boils my blood. Taxing my profit is bad enough. Taxing my overhead is just pure evil.
