I lose track of LSU's scholarship as well. I think Durante definitely will be on scholarship for sure after next season.

Campbell, Dean, Desiderio supposedly have full schollies. I am not sure what we did exactly with Kate's scholly, she transfered to ASU so I am not exactly sure what LSU did with that (I heard she had a partial scholly). Maybe Durante has a partial one at the moment. LSU should have two open ones next year. Now if we use it on one of the returners such as Edwards who does contribute a lot is still up in the air. Rebecca D'Antonio will be a walk on, Olivia is a walk on, pretty sure Standley is a walk on.

quote:

I don’t even see how they would have a scholarship available for her. I mean they haven’t even signed freaking Norah yet. Ugh, my hatred for UCLA grows by the minute.

UCLA does not have any room and any more scholarships to hand out, unless UCLA comes up with the money illegally. Sometimes the school will offer an athlete an academic scholarship but money amount is very different I think. I really don't know how UCLA is pulling this shite off, supposedly next years roster will be at 25. I mean WTF.

OU will free up some money for Lizzy but they will have a scholarship available I think

But NCAA rules state that they can only award 12 full athletic scholarships. The rest would have to walk on with out a scholarship. Unless they pick up money from other scholarships such as academics or stuff outside school.

Dean didn't sign a NLI, but Standley did. Wouldn't that mean that it's Standley that has the scholarship and not Dean. Also, I think Edwards has definitely earned a scholarship, so if she gets one next year as well as Durante, it doesn't seem like we would have one left. I always assumed that Desiderio took over Kate's scholarship, but I could be completely wrong.

If Norah walks on to UCLA, my mind will be blown. I mean, how?

I believe at one time academic scholarships were included in the overall count to prevent schools from exceeding the limit. This was in all sports and was due to Bear Bryant stacking his roster with academic scholarships to keep players from signing at rival schools.

Seems TOPS type schollies were allowed since those applied to the general population by meeting state criteria.

this may have all changed in recent years which would be good for opportunities for additional athletes unless schools are allowed to abuse the system

If this were to happen, that would be a major red flag to the NCAA. I just hope LSU can pick up those elites from gage (Eaker and Leanne W). Aleah needs to step up here

That’s back to back wins coming from two different future tigers in 2017 from Kai and now this year with Haleigh. That’s impressive! Future is so bright!

I remember when Haleigh committed to LSU a lot of people where moaning and groaning about the age she committed. I remember one person saying that they didn’t know why LSU would even take her this early because there really wasn’t anything that seemed special about her. Boy, somebody has an eye for talent on this staff. She’s blossomed into something very special indeed.

That was scary...but actually hearing the leg snap on vault for the Chinese gymnast was worse....I watched the meet later, and even knowing about the injury I wasn’t prepared for how brutal it was :(

Big week for Aleah Finnegan!!

She competes in an elite qualifier meet!! She has been training a double twisting yurchenko on vault, double lay on floor, and she has been training a pass very similar to Sarah's opening pass here at LSU

Excited for her, a lot of eyes will be on her this week

Update:

Emma Kelley been training at Texas Dreams, some major upgrades in the works.

Bailey Ferrer placed 1st in the All Around at State meet and won floor and vault titles.

Kai Rivers had a disastrous meet on beam and that what cost her. She had 3 falls on beam. Vault bars and floor were good. Its been an off year for her for whatever reason, not sure if she has an injury.

Last I heard Caitlin Smith had some type of injury.

h. Bryant dominated and put up 39+ all around score at her state meet. She is rated the #1 all arounder in the country and she is two years younger than most of the other competitors on list. She literally is the next major vaulter for LSU, I see a lot of 10's in her future, she's outstanding.

Olivia Dunne and Tori Tatum are about to compete at Jesolo soon, very excited to see them.

LSU folks feel very confident on Annie Beard

LSU may receive some positive news from a gage gymnast in the next few months (Wink wink)

Trinity continues to flirt with a few different schools but no one knows. My gut says UCLA, UCLA is using her best friends Norah Flately, Jordan Chiles and Frazier to recruit the hell out of her.

Lizzy Leduc has been at OU multiple times over the last 3 weeks.

Aleah didn't qualify to elite due to a disastrous floor set, if she hits it she qualified. She tied for first on vault, 3rd on bars, 5th on beam.

It seems like she has an injury every year.

Yes!! That would be fantastic for LSU, if any of the three gage gymnasts that have previously been mentioned committed.

My gut says the same thing. I just think it's too much to overcome with all of her best friends going there. Flo streamed a Q&A with her earlier where she said that she thinks her heart is set on a college, and that she thinks she is close to deciding. It sounds like to me that she knows deep down where she wants to go.

This would normally mean it's OU, correct?

Are Kai & Elena competing fulls now on vault instead of DTY? I can't tell. The vault just happens so fast.

Kinda concerned about Caitlin Smith's development, if she is always injured every year.

Weird enough, Trinity does not follow UCLA on Instagram. Just from all I am told it still seems to be LSU, UCLA, OU and Florida. Florida has apparently made some major pushes apparently.

The good news is LSU was able to have Trinity on campus multiple times. Jay feels extremely confident if he can get you on campus he can land you.

Kai competed the full a lot this year for whatever reason. If I am not mistaken, I am pretty sure Elena competed a full as well. She will do a 1 1/2 come NCAA but It would be shame, the double full is ridiculously clean and consistent, its better than gnats

LSU supposedly nabbed Alexis Jeffrey. Word is she has given a verbal. Looks great on bars and beam. Lots of potential. Not sure what year she would be.

My fingers are still crossed for Trinity.

She is 2020 I think, btw she just qualified to elite

I was told three weeks back that LSU could pick up one or two gage gymnasts. Eaker and Jeffrey were the two I was told.

Eaker is recruited pretty hard by UCLA, and a few other top programs at the moment. Jeffrey is a phenomenal talent as well. LSU would be very lucky to pick her up.

Jeffrey Floor Routine

here is some stuff for people who haven't seen Alexis
