Duop has some of the worst hands in the league. If he is posting up down low and has his defender between him and the goal, he can catch a bounce pass and shoot quick enough before the double team comes. If the double team comes quickly, he usually makes bad decisions and either makes a bad pass or the ball is stolen. He has to improve for LSU to get better.
Skyler needs to quit going to the rim and throwing up hail Marys and hoping for the best. He's not 6'8" and not that quick. He needs to Re focus his game outside of the lane because it's not working inside the lane, hasn't worked in 2 seasons and it's time he adjusted his game and learns what "isn't" working.

Reath only had 2 rebounds and Skylar is flashing shades of Josh Grey more or more out there. Definitely need better games from those guys.

CWW Just made comments post game about changing up routine. I’m betting this is way more playing time for Sampson. He’s our pretty best pure shooter and adequate defender. He has to play 25+ minutes for us to beat good defensive teams.

First off, I get what you're saying, but I'd take Duop reath over Del Piero, Darcy Malone, or Elbert Robinson any day.

The whole team was playing out of control tonight. Bama completely took us out of our offensive game and we blew some opportunities trying to push the ball up the floor quickly and made errant passes. We saw some of the sloppiest play we've had all season for 15 minutes of the 2nd half. Unfortunate, but glad they fought back and gave themselves a chance after it looked like we might lose by 20.

By the way, Reath and Mays are the top 2 scorers on the team behind Waters. After cleaning house, Will Wade kept these dudes on the roster for a reason. They're on the floor because Wade thinks they give us the best chance to win with what we've got.

Mays basically stole the ball twice on a possession and then took it down for two points on a fast break after another player (Reath or Epps) jumped on the ball and dished it to him.

Furthermore, Duop and Epps are basically our only big men on this roster. There are times we play with 4 guards on the floor due to depth. We have an disadvantage on rebounding when either of them is sitting. Look at Simmons and Victor a couple years ago. We were totally screwed if one of them, or both, was in foul trouble. We didn't have depth at all. Elbert Robinson was a third body we could throw in the game, we don't even have that third tall body this season.

I understand and agree with your statements, and I know you weren't completely shitting on these guys, but we're just in a tough situation right now.

We've won 2 games in our first four conference matchups this season. We won 2 conference games all of last year. Lost a tough one tonight, but games like this happen, and bama is no slouch even though they have come off some hard losses recently. Texas A&M was ranked 5th in the fricking country a few weeks ago... They're now 0-5 in the SEC

ETA: what rilesrick said, the Sampson injury earlier this year was huge. Hoping he'll explode at some point this year after easing back into the lineup

Duop can't catch at all, Mays is josh gray 2.0, and both of them still have too much Johnny jones in them. I'm glad people on this board have accurate takes, good to know I wasn't crazy for saying this

Sampson is NOT at all a great shooter. He needs to slash and finish or learn to stop at 12-15’ and score. He needs to lay off the 3’s.
Waters or Epps are our best pure shooters. Don’t know what happened to Edwards and Onwuasor. They were supposed to be shooters/scorers. Neither could hit shite last night.

Biggest problem with this team is if we can't hit 3's we don't have the cutters. Bama back side help gave us fits, and their aggressive board play. We got the ball in against Arky, did not yesterday.

In Duops defense there were plenty of bad lazy entry passes last night. Several were off to the side and late allowing for easy steals. Mays drives to the basket out of control all the time. I remember one game he had 4 charges.

this. Plus there were a few entry passes that put Duop in a bad situation along the baseline.

Duop and Epps were two of the better players yesterday. The guards were off their game, most of all Waters.

I have no idea why Sims played only 4 minutes. That and Wade yanking Waters in and out early in the game tells me that something was wrong. Maybe they caught the flu from Kentucky but Wade is too much of a man to use it as an excuse.

I was saying this during the Kentucky game. Dude was like 2-20 and still forcing up terrible shots.

Agreed. Criticizing kids who are busting their asses to make us proud isn't cool.

We couldn't buy a three pointer so Alabama never was forced out to guard the shooter. This left them to clog the middle preventing Waters from penetrating.
They are well coached and we couldn't match them due to a mismatch in talent.

What are you talking about? Waters had 19 points 5 assists and 1 turnover. How is that an off game by any definition?

He had 8-9 pts with about 8 min left and only became aggressive when we were down 15. He needs to get his shot before we get down that much. He should be more selfish.

It was by his standards. Like I said, it was strange how he got pulled twice in the first 5 minutes.

He was also double teamed a lot. I think the team will get better at attacking that.
